Finance and giving

The mission, ministry and maintenance of St Margaret's Church is dependent on the giving of its members. Once we appreciate how much God has given us in practical and spiritual ways, we are compelled to respond to his generosity through the use of our time, our talents and our financial resources.
Christian teaching suggests that in all these areas we are expected to give something to God's work according to our means. Every contribution however small or large brings us together in our shared purpose.
Do make the subject of your giving a matter for prayer. Do be bold and discuss how you might offer your time and your talents. For financial contributions, many Christians give a tithe (10% of gross income) or some other fixed percentage.
As St Paul said (2 Corinthians, 9.7) 'Each should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver'.

What wording should I use to leave a gift to St Margaret's Church?
Thank you for considering leaving a legacy to St. Margaret’s Church- we very much appreciate all gifts given in this way. If you would like to remember St Margaret’s in your Will but are not entirely sure of the best way of doing this, you may find
this document useful as it contains a guide to suggested wording for your Will for some of the most common ways of leaving a gift.
Please ensure that, whatever wording is used, any legacy to us includes our full name, “St Margaret’s PCC” and “Registered Charity Number 1139738” as this will avoid any doubt about our identity.’
Thank you
However you make your contribution, we are grateful to God for your generosity towards the mission and ministry of St Margaret's.
